9/22/2023 0 Comments Howell township tax collectorIf you were 65 years or older as of December 31st of the pre-tax year you may be eligible for a deduction of $250.00 annually from your gross tax. To learn more about these programs go to the NJ Treasury website. There are currently four "relief" programs that are being offered through New Jersey State. The State of New Jersey has instituted several rebate programs regarding you and your taxes. In the event your mortgage company or bank is no longer responsible for your taxes, it is advisable for you to contact this office immediately for up to date records. Please call our office if you do not have the current quarter amount due. Note: If your address differs from that indicated on the bill, then you need to submit an envelope with the correct address.Submit the entire bill with your check (with or without an envelope) and we will send back the receipted body of the bill and return it to the address on the bill.Detaching the stub and submitting it with your check is acceptable, however, the only receipt of payment/proof of payment will be your returned check.Make your check payable to the City of Englewood and mail to.Your receipt will appear on the reverse side of your bill.If you are mailing in your payment and you wish to receive a receipt, a self addressed stamped envelope should be included with your entire tax bill.When making your payments, if you wish to receive a receipt, the tax bill in it's entirety must accompany the payment.Interest is at the rate of 8% per annum on the first $1500.00 and 18% on the amount in excess of $1500.00.There is a 10-calendar day grace period each quarter, however it is important to note that interest accrues from the original due date for any payments received after the 10-calendar day grace period. Tax payments are due February 1, May 1, August 1, and November 1 of each year.
